Transforming Digital Learning: Web Application Development for Vyas Edification

Project Requirements

From the administrative side, the client required the ability to:

• Manage and organize video content based on topics or subjects,
• Monitor and respond to student enquiries,
• Track and process download requests, and
• Recruit and manage support staff for application maintenance and operations.

This initiative aims to provide a more robust, accessible, and efficient platform for students and administrators alike.

Key challenges

The client observed that several students faced challenges in effectively utilizing the study videos and materials provided through the mobile application. Many expressed a desire to attend live classes but were unable to stay at the institute's physical location for extended periods due to personal constraints. Additionally, issues such as undelivered or misplaced study materials further impacted the learning experience.

To address these concerns, the client proposed the development of a web application that would replicate all features of the existing mobile application while ensuring enhanced accessibility and reliability. The client also requested that the web application be fully mobile-responsive to support seamless learning across all devices.

Solution Implementation

After the client requirements were captured, one web application was proposed where the client as Admin can:

• Manage available videos or links to sort them into various categories & sub-categories and, if necessary, create a new category.
• Structure and assign classes and necessary data for students through the categorized videos.
• Review purchases made by students, manage scholarships, exams info, advertise and recruit employees as required through the careers tab, etc. More proposed admin actions included:

Add, delete, and categorize videos under Vyas Video, Demo Video, etc., based on Subject/Department/Topic. Create and manage new categories as required.
Remarks: New categories may reflect trending technologies or academic subjects.

Promo Codes

Create and manage promotional codes to offer discounts on subscriptions and purchases.
Remarks: Useful for marketing campaigns and special offers.

Enquiry Requests

View, approve, or disapprove enquiries submitted by users. Generate enquiry reports for daily, weekly, monthly, or custom date ranges.
Remarks: Enables prompt and organized user support handling.

Purchase History

Monitor users’ purchase history, including applied coupons, discounts, and combo offers. Generate transaction reports as required.

News Management

Publish and manage news items and updates related to courses, exams, and scholarships.
Remarks: Ensures students are well-informed on institutional updates.

Exam Info

Upload and manage data about upcoming competitive exams (e.g., JEE, NEET, Olympiads).

Scholarships

Manage and award scholarships based on exam performance and other criteria.
Remarks: Promotes merit-based learning and student motivation.

Downloads

Control download permissions and access to course materials and other academic content.
Remarks: Streamlines resource sharing with proper content control.

Cancel & Refunds

Review and respond to cancellation and refund requests. Include admin-generated response messages.
Remarks: Enhances customer satisfaction with transparent refund processes.

Careers

Manage recruitment by posting job openings, viewing applicants, and storing candidate data. Generate reports on job postings and applications.
Remarks: Supports HR and operations for institutional expansion.

Profile

Manage admin profile and settings.

Results

Following the successful development and deployment of the web application aligned with discussions from the Requirement Gathering Sessions, Statement of Work (SoW) documentation, and periodic Development Phase Demos, Vyas Edification has achieved a more structured and efficient business model.
